T for Tuesday

T Stands For is hosted by Elizabeth and Bleubeard

Cavendish PEI

I've been doing more photo organizing and thought you'd like a look at Anne of Green Gables house, now a museum. Click here for a lengthy browse.

  5. Such a lovely and quaint place. I have seen some photos, and would love to visit there in person one day as I love that story- even the Netflix series of Anne with an E which was superbly done! Happy T day wishes, oh, and I love that beautiful banner photo too!

  6. What an absolutely interesting looking museum, Jackie. I was impressed with the spinning wheels, but my grandmother's treadle machine was in better condition than the one in the photo.

It was fun to see the dining area. I wonder how old that berry pie is (grin). Thanks for sharing the Anne of Green Gables Museum with us for T this Tuesday.

I wonder if I could afford that green and yellow houseboat in your header.

  7. I wonder if the house that the author portrayed was as affluent for its day as the museum display. I thought Anne's adoptive family were farmers. The photos you show really look beautiful with that 19th century-style carved wood furniture. I enjoy that kind of presentation, such as at Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI which displays a number of historic houses that were dismantled and brought there and furnished to the right era. Just being picky, but I'm very curious about the installed carpeting -- I didn't think that was done until the electric vacuum cleaner was invented. Was there documentation about the furnishings?

  10. I have been there and seen all of the house. We took a cruise and then went to Prince Edward Island, and then toured there. Thanks for the memories. I have read maybe 10 or more books by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Love all those books, but especially the ones about Anne! Happy T Day!
