Weekend Cooking - Las Vegas Style

December 2013 - Las Vegas Nevada

I mentioned in my Las Vegas recap that I would post details of our dinner at Joe Vicari’s Andiamo located in The D Hotel.

This restaurant is tucked away on the second floor of a casino. Once you enter it is an oasis of calm and you step back to the golden days of Vegas when everyone dressed up to go to dinner. The room is adorned with wood panelling, low lighting, and pristine linens.
Our waiter John hailed from New York and was a true New Yorker and missed New York!!! He could have been an understudy for the Sopranos with his accent and dyed black hair.
He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu (as he should be) and was able to give us good advice on our selections.

As you peruse the menu your server will bring a basket of bread accompanied by a flavorful tapenade made with roasted eggplant, tomatoes, olives and capers.

The food was delicious to say the least. We would have been quite happy to have several orders of the appetizer we shared with the delicious bread.

I would definitely go back to Adiamo's if I went back to Las Vegas.

Banana Peppers and House made Sausage, potatoes, rosemary demi-glace - this description does not do it justice! We couldn't stop eating this.

Veal Osso Bucco
Braised veal shank, rich tomato sauce, homemade fettuccine pasta, gremolata

George’s Bank Salmon
Wild line caught salmon, char-broiled, lemon caper butter

Fruits of the Sea
Jumbo shrimp, sea scallops, mussels, calamari, spicy tomato Arrabbiata sauce, home-made angel hair pasta

Roast Chicken
Half, bone-in free range, all natural chicken, roasted peppers, onions, red wine sage sauce

  2. That Fruit of the Sea plate looks AMAZING. I may go to Las Vegas this year for the American Library Association annual conference - if I do I'm stopping at this restaurant!
