I'm posting at Sepia Saturday today. This week's challenge:
209 : By now, you don't need any suggestions from me. Search the image and find your own theme.
This would be sometime in the early 1950s outside Dublin, Ireland. I know nothing about it other than it is my mother's younger sister, Nellie. it looks like beach behind her. No idea who this car would belong to.
Wow, she looks happy. I wonder in the distance, is that a man running, or is it possibly a statue? In any case, it sure has me curious!
ReplyDeleteI love sepia shots and old photos. Thank yhou for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteNellie looks properly pleased; I bet she was enjoying her day out.
ReplyDeleteExcellent, just a simple smiling happy woman!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting note about the photograph is the way Nellie's silhouette appears perfectly in shadow in the car's side window. She does look very happy for whatever reason.

ReplyDeleteThe car looks like an old Morris Minor - just like our first car.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice photo. It looks like it might be a little windy and chilly there.
ReplyDeleteLooks like she's having fun at the beach. Nice sepia post!
ReplyDeletePretty Nellie --- and even more so in the reflection in the window. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like she's enjoying both the fresh air and the heat of the sun.
ReplyDeleteOld photos have a way of sending our imagination soaring.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bob - an old Morris Minor by the look of things. Great photo anyway. Happy New Year Jackie.
ReplyDeleteNellie looks as if she has been enjoying the run in the car, but way enough to take her cardigan or coat in case the weather changes. .
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel so unobservant...I didn't even see that reflection in the window. Now I look at it I also see what I think is a rock which is out of our view - or is it a tree? It does look like a windy day and that figure in the distance looks like a rather large old woman forging her way up the hill - bracing herself against the wind.
