Travel Photo Thursday

I'm posting over at The Budget Travelers' Sandbox.

January 2014 - Mazatlan Mexico

On the first Friday of every month the artists around the Plazuela Machado open their workshops and galleries to the public from 4-8.
The four of us met up with some friends at 6PM and as our friends were knowledgeable about the locations we wandered with them. Check out their blog here.
We saw some wonderful pieces of art.

Loved this revolving statue.

In most regions of Mexico November 1 is to honor children and infants, whereas deceased adults are honored on November 2. This is indicated by generally referring to November 1 mainly as Día de los Inocentes ("Day of the Innocents") but also as Día de los Angelitos ("Day of the Little Angels") and November 2 as Día de los Muertos or Día de los Difuntos ("Day of the Dead").

Some people believe possessing Day of the Dead items can bring good luck. Many people get tattoos or have dolls of the dead to carry with them.

One of these dolls might have my name on it when we return in February. Which kind should I buy?

  1. Hi Jackie , hope you are having a fab time. I love the Art but not the dolls , I think my grandchildren would be too scared of them. They are a tiny bit creepy. Have fun. x

  6. Oh they are amazing - spooky but interesting. Agree, I probably wouldn't give them to young children in a hurry, but how interesting :)
