Lac du Bonnet is a town in Manitoba, Canada located 115 kilometres (71 mi) northeast of Winnipeg on the west shore of the Winnipeg River. The word "Bonnet" is pronounced by locals as "bonny."

The lake after which Lac du Bonnet takes its name was so called by the French explorer and fur trader Pierre Gaultier La Verendrye, circa 1732. The shape of the lake, itself part of the Winnipeg River, is said to have reminded him of a bonnet. The name "Lac du Bonnet" appears on a map of the explorer Joseph Derouen as early as 1760.

Beginning in 1926, Lac du Bonnet was home to the #1 Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force. As a backup communication system to wireless telephone transmitters, aircraft carried pigeons aboard, and as such a pigeon rookery was established on the air force base. RCAF operations in Lac du Bonnet continued until 1937.

Based on Tom's question, I had to see if it had any relation to a library.

Jeffrey Ji’s DIY design mimics an Australian cafe to the letter, down to the tiling outside the door that’s a near exact replica of tiling that reads “Standing Room Only” at Melbourne’s famous cafe Patricia. He would know, seeing as he used to be a Melbourne resident himself.

However, one of the oldest Starbucks in Toronto was home to an important landmark, the Britnell Bookstore and the building remains in the family. 
Britnell closed in 1999 after serving the city for 106 years.
Alas, it closed up earlier this month and will no doubt become a condo.

Notable Store Elements
Floor is made from 200 year old wharf planking that was unearthed, and re-engineered in Toronto (found during the excavation when the Air Canada Center was being built).
Books lining the walls were donated from local organizations in exchange for some of the older furniture previously used for this store.
Community table is actually a salvaged piece of cabinetry and marble that was the original cash-wrap for the bookstore.

For the letter of the week for this round I am going to go with all things TTC, Toronto Transit Corporation.

Starts with "L"

Lawrence West station opened in 1978, as part of the subway line extension from St. George to Wilson Station.

Upon entrance from the Lawrence Avenue bridge over Allen Road, the bus waiting area and the train platform are apparent. This openness is achieved through glazed walls and a large stairwell. The glass is framed with distinctive orange-painted metal. The platform level features exposed concrete walls, with a long strip of skylights above the tracks with the same orange framing used throughout the station.

Rectangular prism benches with rectangular tiles of yellow, orange, and brown hues are unique to the station. Similar tiles are used on the floors and centre pillars.

Spacing... Aerial Highways, a large 300 foot ceramic tile mural designed by Claude Breeze, spreads across the north face of the main station building above the bus platform.

And was under construction when I went there today.

Leader Lane

The street was renamed Leader's Lane after the Toronto Leader, a newspaper whose offices were located there from 1852 to 1878.

It was the site of York's first jail and "hanging yard". The original jail, a log building, built in 1796, at the corner with Colborne Street has long since been demolished, but several buildings remain on the street which are over 100 years old.
