Foto Tunes - Coronavirus Playlist

In response to these crazy times I will be posting a Coronavirus playlist weekly.

Staying Alive - The Bee Gees

Cairo Egypt - staying alive in traffic is a challenge. As for crossing the street on foot we didn't even try!

All by Myself - Eric Carmen

The solitary photo above is also a good example of social distancing. And here is a great Randy Rainbow parody.

One Word Sunday

Cairo Egypt

I could have gone for the female belly dancer who definitely dazzled the guys, but I found this performer dazzling.

I am reposting this from 2014 as it is fun to re-read some of our travels.

November 2007 - Cairo Egypt

These photos are from a dinner cruise we took in Cairo on the Nile in Egypt for a friend's surprise birthday dinner.

Our flight from Hurghada on the Red Seas had been delayed eight hours so I didn't think that we would make our reservation. However, our guide was so amazing, when I emailed that we were dealyed he moved our dinner reservation to the later sitting and ensured that the surprise birthday cake would still be available. With a few minutes to change we were on our way to the ship.

Once the entertainment started I stood with my camera and just kept shooting.

November 2007 - Cairo Egypt

I'm continuing our first day of touring in Cairo.

On the road as we left the Step Pyramids in Sakkara there are several carpet making schools on both sides of the road.

As you enter you will see women and children making actual carpets based on complex designs. You can watch how they stitch and knot the carpets and see the different materials in use.

We didn't buy anything!

November 2007 - Cairo Egypt

On our first day our second stop was Giza for the pyramids and Sphinx.

The Pyramids of Giza are over 4500 years old. They were built as the burial places for Khufu, Khfare, and Menkaure, three Pharaohs during the Old Kingdom.

Despite the efforts of many people to dismantle and plunder them, they have survived to this day. They are visible proof of the superb mathematical, construction and organisational skills of the ancient Egyptians. This was serious project planning!!!
They are the only remaining original Seven Wonders of the World.

Funny but I really enjoyed taking photos of the colourful camels, should have taken more!
