FAVOURITE

This cannabis is on the lower level of a LCBO Liquor Control Board of Ontario!

SILHOUETTE

This is the best I can do for this week's word. When we were in China we went to the Elephant Trunk Hill in Guilin. This man made silhouettes for us, but I can't find a photo of them, I know they got decluttered when we downsized.

As a bonus, I think this photo taken at the Elephant Trunk Hill looks like a reverse silhouette!

VIRGINVILLE PA
Do I get bonus points for a V on the license plate?
The origin of the name Virginville is obscure. Some say it is the English translation of a Native American word, while others believe the community was named for virgin forests in the area. "Virgin" may be an alternate translation of the Indian-named Maiden Creek, which runs through the town.

Ochlockonee River State Park is a Florida State Park located in Wakulla County, Florida, south of the town of Sopchoppy in the Florida Panhandle.
The name is from the Hitchiti language words for yellow river.

FAVOURITE OBELISK
The Luxor Obelisks (French: Obélisque de Louxor) are a pair of Ancient Egyptian obelisks carved to stand either side of the portal of the Luxor Temple in the reign of Ramesses II. The left-hand obelisk remains in its location in Egypt.

But the right-hand stone, 23 metres (75 ft) high, is now at the centre of the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France.

ORNATE
Right outside our door you can walk along Lake ONTARIO there are various paths. One path has a retaining wall stamped with words like JOY, FLUTTER, GRACE, DANCE ETC.

JUNK

Tom is killing me with his weekly challenge words. It was impossible for me to get a JUNK related beer photo, although I tried!

So I settled for a JUNK boat in Hong Kong.

But not to be defeated, here is a beer on the same trip, on a boat, on the Li River in China!

Monday Mural

I'm linking up at Monday Mural

When we had breakfast in March at the Senator Diner I knew I had a picture of the mural on the side of the building from years ago. We didn't even look this time to see if it was still there...

I was determined to find it. and on my second investigation on my external hard drive I found it, I wasn't very good at tagging/labelling photos back in 2007 when this was taken!!

November 2007 - Cairo Egypt

More Egypt treasures.

We visited Luxor when we were on the Nile cruise in Egypt in 2007. It was quite spectacular and the size is immense. It was late afternoon when we visited.

Luxor Temple Dates from around 1392 BC.

It is close to the Nile and laid out parallel to the riverbank. The temple was built by Amenhotep III (1390-52 BC) but completed by Tutankhamun (1336-27 BC) and Horemheb (1323-1295 BC) and then added to by Rameses II (1279-13 BC).

The temple area now known as Luxor was called Ipt rsyt, the "southern sanctuary", referring to the holy of holies at the temples southern end, wherein the principal god, Amun "preeminent in his sanctuary", dwelt. His name was later shortened to Amenemope. This Amun was a fertility god, and his statue was modeled on that of the similarly Min of Coptos.

I spotted these kids watching us from a nearby school.

In the distance as we left Luxor.

Once we got back to the ship a few of us decided to check out Luxor before dinner.

By carriage.

Back on board for dinner. Cool looking label.

Entertaining servers.

After dinner entertainment, a whirling dervish.

A belly dancer.

John providing more entertainment.
