Some Hawaiian Memories - Punalu'u

I'm posting over at The Budget Travelers' Sandbox

This is the famous black sand beach that we can walk to from our condo we always stay in when we are in Punalu'u. The green sea turtles spend a lot of their day here soaking up the heat from the sand. The waves crash against the rocks while the blue sky shines above the Pacific Ocean.

I never tire of this spot and always have my camera with me!

Black sand!

  1. Oh how I love those Hawaiian sea turtles - such gentle creatures. For my 60th birthday I asked for and received a Hawaiian Heritage bracelet -- I had them remove the flowers in the design and replace them with sea turtles! Great post, Jackie.

  3. Yes that's one of my favorite spots to visit on my island whenever I am passing on my way to Kona, I've never stayed in the condos down there.

  5. Gorgeous shots, Jackie. I got to snorkel with the sea turtles a few years ago, and it was amazing.
