May 2009 - Xian China
We went to the opera in Xian where we were served a dumpling dinner before the show.
The menu was as follows:
Each steamer came with 3 types of dumpling and 3 pieces of each.
Mushroom
Shrimp
Cabbage
Chcken – piece of corn at top to resemble an egg
Pork and leek
Hazelnut
Fried dumplings
Large plate of regular pork
I especially loved the duck dumplings shaped like ducks!

Cute! Thanks for linking up. Cheers
ReplyDeleteOh I love the shapes of those dumplings, especially the ducks.
ReplyDeleteI would happily make a meal of dumplings. In fact, I often do when we order from the local Chinese restaurant. Love how they shaped these to portray the fillings!
ReplyDeleteThe duck dumplings are so cute! Looks like a delicious meal.
ReplyDeleteThe duck dumplings are amazing!
ReplyDeleteGood to see this again,Jackie. Cheers from Carole's Chatter
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Love the duck dumplings!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is allergic to red meat, including pork. It's a worry when we travel. If only everyone would shape their food like this -- then he could eat the poultry-shaped things and skip the pig-shaped ones!
Mmm I like dumplings, I'd give the Shark's Fin one a miss though.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd skip the shark fin, too. The hazelnut seems to stand out--I didn't know they had anything to do with Chinese cuisine.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's some amazing looking food. I've always wanted to try lotus root, and those duck dumplings look incredible.
