TOUR DAY 11 On our own OR optional tour
ITALICS TOUR DESCRIPTION
Following breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some time free to continue your exploration of Hoi An and its surroundings or opt for an optional excursion ($) with your guide. After exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hoi An, you might want to visit the majestic temples at My Son, a complex of Hindu temples built by the Cham people between the 4th and the 14th centuries. You might also want to attend a cooking class at a riverside restaurant in Hoi An old town or get up close and personal with dairy farming and fishing life. For early risers, why not capture the real Hoi An by joining a 4-hour photography tour led by a local expert? If you want to discover underwater life, hop on a boat tour to Cu Lao Cham Island for a fun and relaxing day exploring exotic coral reefs. (Breakfast)
WOO HOO we're on our own for the day.
Our laundry came back, but I wasn't impressed with the ironing, but we have clean clothes.
Hotel lobby.
Coffee at Hoi An's Cong Caphe (or Kong Cafe), a famous Vietnamese chain known for its unique, rustic, Cold War-era theme, military decor, and delicious signature drinks, especially the creamy coconut coffee (Cà Phê Cốt Dừa) and salted coffee.
People watching from our window seats.
It started raining and she is all set to sell raincoats, we bought a couple ensuring we wouldn't and didn't need them.
Tours went on. Nam happened by with a group and said hi!
Across from the cafe we were wondering what people were looking at. There were boats that had been upended in the trees during the recent flooding.
We did some shopping. I got three pairs of loose pants, and a black set. I am still annoyed I didn't buy more tops as she had the best selection.
We had foot massages which included neck and shoulders and she even gave me a scarf of my choice.
Everywhere you went women were posing.
Back at the Japanese bridge.
We go to the Shamrock pub for lunch. John's spring rolls were good but the chicken wings were awful.
Photo for my cousin's husband.
I watched this photoshoot.
I had seen the weasel coffee signs yesterday. One of our group mentioned to me this morning, that she was going to find it today. After she explained it to me I said I wanted to try as well but do not tell John.
Sign I'd seen yesterday.
We ran into G again, and he gave me the name of a place and I knew where it was.
Neither of us were impressed.
Civets eat ripe coffee cherries; the beans ferment in their digestive tract, altering flavor, then are collected from their droppings, cleaned, and roasted.
Back to the hotel as we have to pack before dinner as we hit the road/air again tomorrow.
A cigar bar for John. The other John happened by and sat with us for a while.
