We are nearing the end of this amazing journey.

We left Bangkok with a new Wingbuddy group. There is an Iranian couple from Portland OR and a Ghanese(?) single woman from the States. Tom and another couple from bus 1 ended up in another group. Tom's wife was really not feeling well on our way to the airport.
We just moved locations with the 3 new people and we had a half day tour in Chiang Mai.
A few others from France joined us in our van from Phuket airport to hotel. I must say that the woman from Asian Trails  did the worst job of organizing the hotel shuttles.

Note to self - never order pandan juice!!

This week's recap sees us in Phuket Thailand until late Sunday. We are enjoying some pool time and crazy evening rain deluges. We are also enjoying not working to someone else's schedule!
Highlights this week for me, Chiang Mai and it was also a lowlight with our group - the hotel, Movenpick was awful!! We all voiced our complaints to Wingbuddy and their local representative, Toni which got nowhere but we survived. Wingbuddy does want to speak to me when we return foe what that is worth.

Chiang Mai highlight was the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a sacred, golden Buddhist temple perched atop Doi Suthep mountain, offering stunning panoramic views of Chiang Mai city, known for its rich history, golden chedi (stupa), intricate carvings, and spiritual atmosphere, accessible via a long staircase or tram.

We finished out the week with some pool downtime.

We also attended a Siam dinner and show in Phuket. Siam Niramit Phuket is a great theatrical show relating Thai historical, artistic and cultural facts and beliefs in an extravagant yet extremely professionally run performance.

The food was a plentiful, if uninspiring buffet, as these things tend to be.

On Friday we DID have steak, AUS steak Mexican tacos and burritos in Old Town, Phuket.
