So, to be clear, Trump can talk about annexing our country, and call our PM "governor" but if someone posts quotes of Ronald Regan critical of tariffs it crosses the line into international meddling? Right, right....
A television advertisement created by Ford's Ontario PC government, featuring an anti-tariff speech by former U.S. President and conservative political icon Ronald Reagan, drew an irate response from Trump on the controversial politician's Truth Social platform.
"The Ronald Reagan Foundation has just announced that Canada has fraudulently used an advertisement, which is FAKE, featuring Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about Tariffs. The ad was for $75,000," wrote Trump on Thursday night, adding, "They only did this to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, and other courts."
Ford will pull ad after weekend World Series games.
We need a Wab!
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew just came out in support of Doug Ford's ads. Encouraging him to keep them running. Doug Ford is not the person who imposed the tariffs and his province is being hurt the most by them. A moment of simple research backs the view that the former President Reagan felt that tariffs were a last resort and that a free trade agreement was the only way to harmonize trade. Canadians need to support Doug Ford as the tariffs are there without merit and the US senate has voted against President Trump and his authority to impose such tariffs. Wab Kinew stated that the ads are a necessity and effective. I personally liked his comment "don't expect to throw a rock out into a lake and not expect to hear a splash".
