Another glorious day and nothing planned for our last day in St. Petersburg. I let John sleep in and then we headed down to the hotel's bar for coffee and pastries for breakfast as we had missed the free one.
Then a quick walk to the subway station and headed back downtown to wander with no agenda.
Yikes! I HATE steep down escalators with a passion! And these are really steep!
Got off at Nevsky Prospekt and started sauntering around the area below.
We came upon the Hermitage - so different than the rainy day we had visited it with the tour group.
Looking towards St. Issac and the Admiralty
Subway where you can get a beer with your sub.
Great day for a boat ride
Then it was time for lunch
Looking across at the Hermitage!
Complimentary appetizer - nicely presented!
My salad of smoked salmon and strawberries!
We continued our strolling, it was such a beautiful Sunday and everyone was out enjoying the day.
A stroll through Peter and Paul Fortress - again a much nicer day than the last time
Just one more photo of this church!
Time to head back to the hotel
Back at the hotel outside the metro station
Pizza for dinner
