Shrove Tuesday

Growing up my mother would make crepes on Shrove Tuesday, served with lemon and sugar.

We never had "pancakes". I'm not even sure when I first had pancakes.

Crepes are the first food I grab in France!

What a shame that before digital, we wouldn't waste film on food photos as I know I ate crepes from food stands in France.

Crepes in Paris August 2012 - this is how my mother always made crepes when we were growing up. I didn't realize for the longest time that this wasn't how Americans and Canadians had pancakes!! My favourite with lemon and sugar!!
