Vintage Tech List Divides Generations on Who Lived It All

 Found on Twitter

Matt Pinner shared a checklist of relics like rotary phones, floppy disks, Blockbuster rentals, and paper checks, claiming nobody has experienced all 20. Older users, especially from the 1950s through 1970s, flooded replies with perfect or near-perfect scores, sharing stories of mixtapes, paper maps, and heavy dictionaries. Younger people scored lower, turning the post into a fun generational time capsule that highlights how fast tech has changed everyday life.

I can proudly say I experienced all 20! What say you?

  1. The only thing I didn't do was OWN an encyclopedia. I read a lot from them, though, at the library!

  2. I missed out on #13 as our small town had no Blockbuster.
And oh!!!!! We lived with Ingo´s Grandmother. When I went online she could not use the phone and also...she was sure this was illegal.
So, I scored 19. And I am glad I am "old" and went through all this! Even the darn paper maps!

    1. That is funny, that she thought phones were illegal! I am glad that we learned all this stuff too. In fact, we still have a hard copy map atlas in the car for road trips as the internet is not always available driving through some spots across Canada and the US (not that we're going there anytime soon).

  3. That's a tick to all for me. Do I miss any of it? Not at all.
