I'm linking up at Monday Mural
January 2016 - San Miguel de Allende Mexico
So it turns out, when researching this mural, that one is not supposed to take photos. Well the library was packed with volunteers (of course it was, all the gringos hang out here) and no one stopped us.
This was done by David Leonardo (I know, how did a muralist end up with this name).
To quote Rough Guides "the mesmerizing Sala Quetzal inside La Biblioteca, all four walls smothered with exuberant murals by artist David Leonardo (born in Mexico City in 1963). Inspired by Mesoamerican art, the swirling images are a barrage of colours, peoples and symbols, depicting aspects of Mexican history. The room is open during library hours, but no photos are allowed."
... I just found a mural on Maui that reminds me of the one.
ReplyDeleteWow! Impressive!
ReplyDeleteGlad you managed to take a picture...or four or five. Great mural and I like the name of the artist.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating Jackie.
That must have been a lot of work.
