Kammie's Odd Ball Challenge
Kammie's Odd Ball Challenge
The rules are - no rules.
Odd Ball Photos are those great photos that you take which really don’t seem to fit into a common category. We’ve all taken them and like them, because we just can’t hit delete and get rid of them. If you have any of those type of photos, this challenge is for you.
Oddball: noun a person or thing that is atypical, bizarre, eccentric, or nonconforming
adjective whimsically free-spirited; eccentric; atypical
March 2015 - Coober Pedy Australia
There is no shortage of odd photo ops in this town!

The town is sometimes referred to as the "opal capital of the world" because of the quantity of precious opals that are mined there.
Coober Pedy is renowned for its below-ground residences, called "dugouts", which are built in this fashion due to the scorching daytime heat. The name "Coober Pedy" comes from the local Aboriginal term kupa-piti, which means "boys’ waterhole".

March 2015 - Coober Pedy Australia
Highlights of our day in Coober Pedy.
As mentioned in that post Coober Pedy is renowned for its below-ground residences, called "dugouts", which are built due to the scorching daytime heat. The name "Coober Pedy" comes from the local Aboriginal term kupa-piti, which means "white man's hole".
The Serbian Orthodox Church is the town's largest and most impressive underground church, with intricate rock-wall carvings and a gorgeous vaulted ceiling
The window that appears ground level on the outside actually soars 20 feet over the church within.
