Linking up at Marg at The Intrepid Reader
October 2022 - Halifax NS
Saturday started unseasonably warm at 9C/48F but major winds blew in with a cold front and Sunday was -1C/30F at 10 AM. But not a flake of snow anywhere.
Saturday morning - strange sky
We had our usual weekend routine, relaxing etc.
John finally saw a sports doctor who confirmed that there is some inflammation in the hip area (not really hip but it works) and some fusion. He will see a chiropractor next week and a shot at the end of the month.
It was a lazy week. I started working (finally) on our Newfoundland video.
I did some Christmas shopping for me!
Now we have matching!
Ours had rusted.
It's not Christmas without these!
Replacing another worn pan.
More lobby decorations, John didn't like them, I like them.
Thursday we had our annual Christmas lunch with friends. We went to Spencer's in Burlington.
Photo from their website.
It was not sunny and the pool was drained.
This was a lovely spot (even in winter) with great food and service. It was a 1:30 reservation so it became lunch and dinner as we didn't leave until 4 PM.
We started with a dirty martini with Belvedere for John and a sauvignon blanc for me, then a burger for John and a lobster roll for me, both with fries. Definitely going back!!!! Prices were reasonable too!
Absolutely delicious lobster roll!
John loved his gluten free bun, and burger/

WATCHING
I watched the fourth season (2022) which was released as a separate series titled Borgen - Riget, Magten, og Æren (known internationally as Borgen - Power & Glory), a Danish political drama television series. In Danish, Borgen, lit. 'The Castle', is the informal name of Christiansborg Palace where all three branches of Danish government reside: the Parliament, the Prime Minister's Office, and the Supreme Court, and is often used as a stand in term for the Danish Parliament.
The main character is a woman and I like how it focuses on the additional problems women have to deal with such as periods, pregnancy, abortion, kids, menopause while doing a full time job.
I enjoyed it so much that I went back and started season 1, set in 2010, it has the same actors as 2022. So interesting to see them that young.
