SILVER

The Silver Dollar Room was a live music venue located next to the main floor of the Hotel Waverly, a four-storey low-rise hotel located in downtown Toronto. Opened in 1900, the hotel was built for J.J. Powell. It is one of the oldest Toronto hotels in continuous operation.
The Room opened in 1958 and closed on May 1, 2017 to be redeveloped as a 15-storey mixed-use building, due to its Heritage Designation Status in 2015 the Silver Dollar will reopen with its distinctive exterior sign and the internal mural reinstated.

  4. Large billboards are not allowed here in my city, so I think this one you posted is very special.

  5. Jackie, be sure to save your photos for history. I woould have liked to have eaten at your Silver Dollar Room. I have missed Sullivan's also: "Its building is being demolished and replaced with a high-rise. The new building will include a restaurant from parent company Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, according to Sullivan’s general manager Jake Wise, although it may not be Sullivan’s."

    1. I will save them, they are precious to me. I would have liked to go to the Silver Dollar Room, too. Will be interesting to see the "new and improved".
Sounds like you've been to Sullivan's!
