31 Days in Canada

In honour of CANADA DAY  I plan to post a daily image of Canada and a link to a random Canadian location we have visited.

We'll begin in OTTAWA ON  - random post

Ottawa is the bilingual and vibrant capital of Canada. Located in southeastern Ontario along the Ottawa River, it serves as the nation's political epicenter and is famous for its rich history, distinct urban-meets-nature aesthetic, and a high quality of life.

Political Heart: Ottawa is home to the country's federal government, featuring iconic national landmarks like Parliament Hill, the Supreme Court, and various foreign embassies.

Bilingual Heritage: Situated on the border of Ontario and Quebec, it is a highly bilingual city. Both English and French are widely spoken, giving the city a unique, cross-cultural energy.

National Institutions: The city is a hub for arts and culture, housing world-class venues such as the National Gallery of Canada and the National Arts Centre.

  2. Happy Canada Day, fellow Canuckian! Your new feature sounds great and I'm looking forward to it. Ottawa is a favourite city of mine and I always love visiting! I lived there for one year in 1990 while I was doing a post-grad course.
