The liquor stores continue to boycott American products yet the shelves are full as we all try new things.

We also continue to read labels at grocery stores and elsewhere finding American alternatives.

Back to my weekly ranting, highlighting some amusing memes I found this week.

Our new Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney met with tRump last week.

In Washington today: A world-renowned Oxford PhD economist meets a convicted felon, rapist & pathological liar who faked his SATs. One builds economies while the other posts a picture of himself as Pope. Who do you think is more serious about global stability?

And we have a new Pope.

tRump on Monday dismissed the backlash against an AI-generated image of him as the pope posted by the White House on social media, saying it was a harmless joke, but communications experts said they did not see the funny side.

The weekend AI-generated posts of Trump dressed in white papal vestments and another of him wielding one of the red light sabers preferred by villains in the "Star Wars" movies appeared typical of the provocation the president employs to energize supporters and troll critics.

Shocking. This shows a lack of respect for the religious sensibilities of MAGA cultists. SARCASM!

So their cars need to be made in America but Air Force One can be made in Qatar?

tRump's latest move to take down diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), it’s been revealed that the first female and non-white person to serve as the Librarian of Congress, Dr Carla Hayden, was sacked this week because she “did not fit the needs of the American people”.

When asked why Trump took the decision to fire Dr Hayden, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Friday: “We felt she did not fit the needs of the American people. There were quite concerning things that she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI [diversity, equity and inclusion] and putting inappropriate books in the Library for children.

“We don’t believe that she was serving the interests of the American taxpayer well, so she has been removed from her position, as the president is well within his rights to do.”

The Library of Congress is a research library where books are studied on-site, not checked out to be read at home:

CDNs are paying tens of thousands a month to keep squatter Poilievre living an extravagant lifestyle, surrounded by servants, chauffeur, and private chef. Even trump left the White House when he lost in 2020 FFS.

International travel spending in the United States is projected to fall by $12.5 billion, or seven per cent, in 2025, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

WTTC CEO Julia Simpson said the unpopular policies from the administration of President Donald Trump, fear of being stopped at the border and an unfavourable exchange rate had pushed international tourists towards alternative destinations.
